# Slavic chertogi

`/chertogi` maps a Gregorian birth **month and day** onto a 16-hall circle. The engine is `lib/slavic-chertogi`. SSOT is `lib/slavic-chertogi/halls.json` (`schema_version`, `source: "Inglings Svarozhy Krug table"`, `boundary_rule: "later_hall_owns_shared_day"`).

This is a **cultural-mythic seasonal identity**, not a historical or scientific claim. Pack ethics copy must keep that label.

## Halls

Shared start day belongs to the **later** hall (`startMd` of that hall). `calculateChertog` sets `boundary: true` and records `neighbors`. It **throws** if no hall contains the day. There is no silent fallback to `halls[0]`.

Legacy id `devaa` aliases `deva` in council family maps so old snapshots still vote. Year wrap: 31 December and 1 January land in **Voron**. 29 February lands in **Volk** (non-leap approximation noted in the JSON rationale).

## Page and i18n

The pack page shows UK names from the hall object and from `meanings.chertogi.{id}.{name,patron,tree,theme}`. Interior days use confidence `chertogInterior` `0.78`. Boundary days use `chertogBoundary` `0.55` and keep both hall ids in steps.

Tests: every band start and end, Feb 29, 12-31, 01-01, boundary flags (`lib/slavic-chertogi/__tests__/slavic-chertogi.test.ts`).
